Another Legal Victory for the
Sunrise Powerlink
The Sunrise Powerlink won another court proceeding Tuesday. The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit denied opponents' request for an emergency motion for a temporary injunction, which would have halted construction on federal lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management.
This is the sixth consecutive legal loss for Backcountry Against Dumps and project opponents - and this time at the Federal Court of Appeals level. The Appellate Court's decision allows the Sunrise Powerlink to continue construction on all areas of the 117-mile route.
The Sunrise Powerlink will connect the San Diego region to the vast resources of renewable energy in the Imperial Valley, delivering more than 1,000 megawatts of clean energy to homes and businesses.
